Abstract: François Bignonnet from Institut de Recherche en Génie Civil et Mécanique (GeM) at Nantes Université is visiting CTU from February to August 2025. He will give a short overview of his research activities to promote interactions between CTU and GeM. His work is related to the development of mean and full-field homogenization methods for upscaling material properties of porous media, such as their stiffness, yield strength, diffusion coefficient, or permeability. These methods are applied to some problems covered by the GeM, such as the durability of concrete in aggressive environments or internal erosion in natural soils.
