This page provides various supplementary resources related to a new book on concrete creep and shrinkage, to be published by Springer.
Zdeněk P. Bažant and Milan Jirásek: Creep and Hygrothermal Effects in Concrete Structures
The complete manuscript was submitted to Springer on 27 July 2017. Here is the table of contents: File:Creep contents.pdf
Calibration and validation of creep and shrinkage models requires comprehensive data sets covering sufficiently long loading and drying time periods. So far the largest collection of creep and shrinkage laboratory data and multi-decade structural observations has been compiled at Northwestern University. It is freely available from the following sites:
- web site of Prof. Zdeněk P. Bažant at Northwestern University, Evanston, Illinois
- web site of Dr. Roman Wendner at the University of Natural Resources and Life Sciences, Vienna, Austria
Evaluation of creep compliances and shrinkage strains based on advanced models can be facilitated by various tools:
- Model B3 creep design aid program
- simple interactive tool by Jan Stránský (Czech Technical University in Prague, Czech Republic)
