Here we would like to share some ideas, hints and recommendations regarding useful scientific and educational books and papers.
Books authored by members of the department
- Z. Bittnar, J. Šejnoha: Numerical Methods in Structural Mechanics, ASCE Publications, 1996
- This is the English translation of a book that was published in Czech in 1992 (Z. Bittnar, J. Šejnoha: Numerické metody mechaniky 1 a 2, České vysoké učení technické, Praha, 1992). The Czech version is out of stock and can be downloaded from here: File:Nmm1.pdf, File:Nmm2.pdf
- M. Jirásek, Z.P. Bažant: Inelastic Analysis of Structures, Wiley, 2002
- J. Kruis: DoComputational Modeling of Fracture and Failure: From the Material to the Structuremain Decomposition Methods for Distributed Computing, Saxe-Coburg Publications, 2006
Journal papers
- Special issue of the International Journal of Fracture entitled Computational Modeling of Fracture and Failure: From the Material to the Structure contains 18 original research papers based on presentations at CFRAC 2011 in Barcelona.
Textbooks
- matematika.cuni.cz - the site contains various mathematical materials related to courses taught at the Faculty of Mathematics and Physics at Charles University in Prague
- Advanced Experimental Techniques in Geomechanics (ALERT Doctoral School 2012)
- Here is the complete set of lecture notes: File:ALERT school 2012.pdf
- It is also possible to download some of the presentations.
Writing guides
- W. Strunk: Elements of Style, Filiquarian Publishing, 2007
