Example

To demonstrate the performance of the algorithm a realistic example is presented. A spillway concrete dam (Fig. 4) has been discretized using several control grids (with number of elements ranging from 806 to 13.128). The resulting dependence of the total computational time1 on the number of generated elements for individual control meshes (see Fig. 5) approaches computational complexity and reveals only negligible sensitivity to the density of the control grid (clearly caused by the last smoothing cycle with the enforced ``exact'' projection). The projection convergence criterion has been set to 0.1 % of the local mesh size.
