The general node-cut and element-cut strategies for explicit time
integration schemes have been formulated. Particularly, general support
for nonlocal constitutive models has been considered. The
implementation into a general object oriented finite element code
is based on message passing concept. The attention has been
focused on the design and implementation of inter-partition data exchange.
strategies can be easily implemented into any existing explicit
finite element code.
The described approach has been demonstrated on structural analysis of 3D
specimen using heterogenous parallel computers. A significant
reduction of the computation time and reasonable parallel efficiency
have been evidenced.
