Mesh Size Control

The same mechanisms as described in Section Mesh Size Control (Sequential Mesh Generation) are used for the mesh size control. The local mesh size specification is extended by the mesh size extraction from a region which has the form

where is the required mesh size at point in the region and are the mesh size specifications at Bezier control points. The remaining variables have the the same meaning as in Eq. (3.2). The adaptive mesh size specification is based on a background parametric tree with the mesh size specification at nodes and linear interpolation over the tree cells (segments, quadrants, and octants). While the background tree is (typically) obtained from the previous mesh generation process, the mesh size specification is (typically) acquired from the previous analysis using the previous mesh. Note that the adaptive mesh size control for the parallel mesh generator is directly related to the underlying model.
