• průběh shear force is derivative of průběhu bending moment ⇔ průběh bending moment is integral průběhu shear force,
• průběh shear force changes:
  • skokově v místě osamělých sil nebo reakcí,
  • nemění se v místě bez zatížení ,
  • nemění se v místě osamělého momentu ,
• průběh ohybového momentu se mění:
  • skokově v místě osamělého momentu,
  • lineárně v místě konstantní posouvající síly,
  • nemění se skokově v místě osamělých sil nebo reakcí,
• nezatížený převislý konec je bez vnitřních sil.
