Introduction to Research Data Management

Abstract:

The seminar provides participants, particularly doctoral candidates and project data managers/curators/stewards, with an introduction to research data management (RDM), with an emphasis on the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, Reusable) and their motivation within the context of Open Science (OS). Participants will become familiar with basic terminology and, through examples and subsequent discussion, will learn the fundamentals of good RDM practices. They will gain a general overview of RDM in the context of OS, be able to apply the FAIR principles to their own projects, and become familiar with resources for further self-education in this area.
